Dance Competition
(COMPETITION ENDED ON OCTOBER 2, RESUMING A NEW PRO-LEVEL COMPETITION IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS)


The Dance Competition will run for ten (10) weeks.  There will be a winner who will receive the weekly prize. The finals will be held on the on the eleventh (11) week, in which all the weekly winners will come back to compete with each other for the grand prize (to be determined).  The contestants can pick from a variety of Latin dances which includes salsa, meringue, cumbia, and cha-cha and more.

Contestants will be judged by a panel of four (4) judges every week. The judges will determine the winners by the following criteria/s:


I. Originality Points 10
* The contestant’s interpretation of the dance will allow them to show uniqueness and individuality of their own style.

II. Creativity Points 10
* The contestants will show their creativity through choreography. Putting a successful routine will set them from the rest. Props are always a plus.

III. Performance Points 10
* It is very important for the contestants to be able to connect with the audience and the judges while performing. Professionalism and showmanship are very important factors.

IV. Appearance Points 10
* Costumes are encouraged but not mandatory.

IV. Audience Applause Points 20
* Measured by meter

TOTAL POINTS 60

The judges will determine how many points which will be given to each contestant in each category with the exception of the audience applause which is measured by a meter. The total of the combined points in each category will be the total score earned by each contestant.
The contestant with the closest score to sixty (60) wins the competition.
